Advanced microcontroller bus architecture (AMBA) protocol family provides metric-driven verification of protocol compliance, enabling comprehensive testing of interface intellectual property (IP) blocks and system-on-chip (SoC) designs. Flash memory is a non-volatile electronic computer memory storage medium that can be erased and reprogrammed electrically. Flash memory is extremely durable and can withstand intense pressure or extreme temperatures. Flash memory is widely used for storage and data transfer in consumer devices, enterprise systems and industrial applications. NOR Flash memory is one of the two popular types of flash memory, the other is NAND Flash. NOR Flash is a type of memory cell created by INTELL in 1988. Read, write, erase, and reset are the four main operations available in flash memory. Device drivers are software interfaces between software applications and hardware devices. As part of complex operating system, device drivers are considered extremely difficult to develop. They are usually developed in low-level programming languages, such as C. The device driver developers must have an in-depth understanding of given hardware and software platforms. This project proposes to design and develop driver for NOR Flash memory controller which is connected to A2O core through AMBA AXI4 bus interface. Driver development will be done in GCC compiler. C language will be used to develop drivers
