Abstract

International financial markets play a vital role in cross-border capital flows, investment, trade, financial integration, and economic development. India’s integration with global financial markets has increased significantly following liberalization, globalization, financial deregulation, and technological advancement. The study examines how international financial markets influence India’s financial system, economic growth, capital flows, foreign investment, exchange rates, international trade, and financial stability. Primary and secondary data are used, with responses obtained from 100 respondents and analysed through percentage analysis. Findings indicate positive perceptions regarding global financial integration, FDI, FPI, international trade, and financial reforms, while external shocks and volatility remain important challenges today.

Full Article/Conclusion

International financial markets have become an important component of India’s economic and financial development by promoting international investment, capital mobility, foreign trade, financial integration, and access to global financial resources. The study concludes that globalization and financial deregulation have significantly increased India’s integration with international financial markets. Foreign direct investment, foreign portfolio investment, international trade, and global financial cooperation have contributed to capital formation, industrial development, technological advancement, employment generation, and financial-market development. At the same time, greater integration exposes India to external interest-rate changes, exchange-rate movements, global financial crises, capital-flow volatility, and geopolitical risks. Therefore, sound monetary policy, prudent fiscal management, effective financial regulation, and strong institutional frameworks are essential. Overall, international financial markets provide substantial opportunities for India’s long-term economic growth and global competitiveness when the associated financial risks are managed effectively.
