This paper reviews the practical applications and operational sequences of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining and routing within a modern manufacturing environment. Bridging the gap between theoretical mechanical engineering concepts and actual shop-floor production, this study analyzes technical learnings from an extensive industrial internship. The review systematically categorizes major manufacturing practices, encompassing machine setup, programmed machining, precision inspection, routine maintenance, and industrial safety protocols. Ultimately, the paper concludes that meticulous setup, rigid clamping, optimal tool condition, and precise parameter control are the primary determinants of machining accuracy, production repeatability, and operator safety.
KEYWORDS
This review highlights CNC machining and routing as deeply integrated manufacturing activities that require a synthesis of drawing interpretation, material science, tool setting, and precision inspection. The practical experience detailed in the internship report successfully bridges foundational classroom theory with the realities of industrial production. By adhering to strict safety and maintenance protocols, modern machine shops ensure efficient, repeatable, and safe manufacturing outputs.
