Hand gesture recognition (HGR) using artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly advanced the field of virtual reality (VR) by enabling intuitive and immersive users experiences. This literature survey explores recent advancements in deep learning methodologies applied to HGR in VR, emphasizing techniques such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM) networks, 3D CNNs, multimodal data fusion, and transfer learning. The survey discusses current progress, highlights ongoing challenges, and suggests future research directions.
