Abstract

The digital market is influenced by graphic design in terms of providing customers with loyalty and creating an image for a brand. This review examined the role of visual aspects of graphic design (logos, colours, typography, layout, and packaging) and the impact these aspects have on consumer views of a product and/or brand while making emotional connections and creating brand loyalty. The review analysed the current literature from 2014 to 2025 (as well as future references of studies) that were found on the following databases: Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The authors found that graphic design improves perceptions of brands, creates increased emotional attachments to brands, and helps to establish long-term loyalty to brands. However, there are some limitations in the studies, such as being based on self-reported data, having small or regionally limited samples, and lacking longitudinal or empirical research studies. This document serves as a call to action for individuals involved in strategic branding to consider the impact of graphic design; however, it also provides individuals involved with marketing and/or artistic design with some practical ideas and suggestions for future investigation into graphic design's role in the strategic brand design process.

Full Article/Conclusion

The importance of computer graphics to create trust and recognition for a brand in the competitive digital world is significant In this sense, the current literature has reviewed how a variety of visual design components such as logos, the use of colour, type design, layout, packaging and motion graphics have influenced how consumers identify, perceive, and connect with brands while also increasing brand loyalty. Research about graphic design has shown that strong, consistent and effective visual representation will strengthen the image of a brand, provide better opportunities for consumers to be engaged with the brand and help consumers to easily remember the brand. These types of positive brand experiences can be created using the principles of simplicity, visual appeal, and a user-centric approach; the continued evolution of virtual platforms and interactive digital graphics has prompted the need for design to be of higher relevance. "Although research supports the importance of graphic design, there are still challenges such as limited empirical validation, reliance on self-reported data, and lack of longitudinal analysis for research studies that are available at this point." As a result, continued innovation and the development of new computer graphics and design methodologies will further strengthen the relationship between brands and their consumers, thus making branding more relevant, engaging, and flexible with the ongoing technological advances of the ever-changing digital environment.
