Microfinance institutions (MFIs) play a vital role in promoting financial inclusion by extending financial services to economically weaker sections, small entrepreneurs, and underserved communities. The present study examines the contribution of microfinance institutions in India with particular reference to Bajaj Finserv. It focuses on customer awareness, accessibility of microfinance services, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship development, income generation, and customer satisfaction. The study is based on both primary and secondary data collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire, while secondary information was obtained from RBI reports, NABARD publications, company reports, books, and research journals. The findings indicate that Bajaj Finserv's microfinance services have positively influenced financial accessibility, encouraged entrepreneurship, enhanced income opportunities, and improved customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery and digital financial solutions. The study concludes that customer-centric financial services, technology-enabled platforms, financial literacy, and continuous innovation are essential for strengthening financial inclusion and supporting sustainable socioeconomic development in India.
KEYWORDS
The study concludes that microfinance institutions play a significant role in promoting financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and socioeconomic development in India. Bajaj Finserv has contributed effectively by providing accessible financial services, technology-enabled lending solutions, and customer-focused financial products that support economically weaker sections and small entrepreneurs. The statistical findings indicate that customer awareness, financial inclusion, service quality, and digital financial services significantly influence customer satisfaction. Improved accessibility to financial resources has enabled customers to undertake income-generating activities, strengthen financial security, and participate more actively in formal financial systems. Continuous improvement in digital infrastructure, financial literacy initiatives, and customer-centric service delivery will further strengthen the effectiveness of microfinance services. The study offers valuable insights for financial institutions, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners working towards sustainable financial inclusion and inclusive economic growth in India.
