Abstract

The increasing global demand for sustainable and clean energy has accelerated the adoption of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Solar energy harvesting systems provide an eco-friendly solution for reducing dependence on fossil fuels while minimizing greenhouse gas emissions. However, challenges such as system efficiency, environmental conditions, installation techniques, grid integration, and maintenance continue to affect the overall performance of photovoltaic systems. Recent advancements in solar cell technology, power electronics, smart energy management, and artificial intelligence-based monitoring systems have significantly improved the reliability and efficiency of solar power generation. This review paper presents a comprehensive study of solar energy harvesting systems focusing on photovoltaic technologies, system design, installation methods, energy conversion techniques, performance evaluation parameters, and grid integration approaches. The study also examines existing literature related to solar energy engineering, inverter technologies, PV installation practices, and intelligent monitoring systems. Furthermore, the paper highlights the limitations of current solar energy systems and discusses future developments aimed at improving efficiency, sustainability, and smart energy utilization.
