Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routing constitutes a critical sub-process in modern panel processing, enabling high-precision profile cutting, pocketing, drilling, and trimming across composite and metallic sheet materials. This paper presents a systematic review of CNC routing mechanics, toolpath optimization, parameter control, and quality assurance workflows, referencing industrial practices associated with Epitome Components Pvt. Ltd. The study evaluates critical operational factors—including spindle speed ($N$), feed rate ($f_r$), depth of cut ($d_c$), and chip load ($f_z$)—and their direct influence on dimensional accuracy, surface roughness ($R_a$), and tool wear dynamics. Furthermore, failure modes in panel cutting are analyzed alongside mitigation strategies, such as material nesting, Poka-Yoke fixturing, and structured inspection protocols.
KEYWORDS
CNC routing quality is determined by the inter-dependency of programming, parameters, tooling condition, and fixturing stability. Systematic control over cutting speed, feed rate, and nesting strategy directly improves material utilization and surface finish while extending tool life.
