Healthcare services are becoming increasingly dependent on digital platforms, especially for basic support, awareness, and first-level patient interaction. In many situations, people want quick guidance related to common symptoms such as fever, headache, cough, weakness, stress, or stomach discomfort, but they may not always have immediate access to a doctor. In such cases, a healthcare chatbot can serve as a useful support tool by providing instant, structured, and easy-to-understand responses. This project presents the design and development of an AI Healthcare Bot System using Python. The system is built as a web-based chatbot application that allows users to enter health related queries in simple language and receive suitable responses based on symptom recognition and predefined healthcare knowledge. The project combines rule-based logic with basic natural language processing techniques to improve interaction quality and response relevance. The chatbot has been developed using Python and Flask, with support from libraries such as NLTK, Pandas, and Scikit-learn. The system includes modules for user input handling, text preprocessing, symptom identification, response generation, and emergency alert detection. A custom dataset of common symptoms and healthcare suggestions was prepared to support the chatbotâs responses. The bot is designed mainly for educational and preliminary guidance purposes, not as a replacement for professional medical consultation. During testing, the system showed good performance for common healthcare queries and was able to provide quick responses with low processing time. It performed especially well in handling repeated symptom-based questions and in identifying certain emergency terms such as chest pain or breathing difficulty, where it immediately advised the user to seek medical attention. The project highlights how artificial intelligence and Python can be used to create simple yet effective healthcare support systems. It also opens the way for future improvements such as multilingual conversation, voice support, appointment booking integration, and smarter NLP based disease prediction.
