Abstract

Investment behaviour plays a crucial role in determining the financial well-being of individuals and contributes significantly to economic growth. Individual investors make investment decisions based on several factors such as risk tolerance, expected returns, financial awareness, income level, market conditions, and personal financial goals. The present study aims to analyse the investment behaviour of individual investors and identify the factors influencing their investment decisions. The study examines the investment preferences of individuals towards different financial instruments such as fixed deposits, mutual funds, equities, insurance, gold, and real estate. The research focuses on understanding how demographic factors such as age, income, education, occupation, and financial literacy affect investment choices. In recent years, increasing awareness about financial markets and technological advancements have significantly influenced investment practices among individuals. However, uncertainty in financial markets and lack of proper financial knowledge continue to affect investment decisions negatively.

Full Article/Conclusion

Investment behaviour is an important aspect of personal financial management and economic development. The present study highlights that investment decisions are influenced by various factors such as age, income, financial literacy, risk perception, and market conditions. The research concludes that there is no single investment strategy suitable for all individuals, as investor behaviour differs according to financial goals and socio-economic conditions. Financial awareness and proper planning play an essential role in helping investors make better decisions and reduce financial risks. Improving financial literacy and encouraging informed investment practices can contribute significantly to financial stability and wealth creation among individuals. Therefore, investors should adopt systematic financial planning and remain updated about investment opportunities to achieve long-term financial success.
