Road traffic accidents remain a critical global challenge, where delayed emergency response often leads to preventable fatalities. This paper proposes a novel, large-scale automated accident detection and emergency alerting framework that overcomes the geographical limitations of existing localized systems. The core working principle relies on monitoring Radio Frequency (RF) characteristics; any sudden and significant frequency disturbance ($Hz$) beyond a predefined threshold is utilized as the primary indicator of a vehicular collision. Upon detecting a crash, the system instantly captures the precise real-time geographical location using global positioning coordinates (Latitude and Longitude) along with the direction of the impact. Unlike conventional vehicle-specific alarms that operate within a restricted radius, this system is designed for wide-area coverage, enabling centralized monitoring of vast highway networks and remote zones. Once a collision is validated via the frequency anomaly, the system bypasses human intervention to automatically trigger an instant emergency alert, transmitting precise coordinates directly to the nearest ambulance services and hospital control rooms. This integration of RF sensing and automated cellular/GPS tracking drastically reduces response latency, ensuring timely medical aid and significantly improving survival rates in critical transit mishaps.
KEYWORDS
Before large-scale deployment, the prototype will undergo rigorous simulation using software like MATLAB to model electromagnetic interference and vehicular structural impacts on RF signals. Following successful simulations, controlled field testing will be conducted using scale models of vehicles to calibrate the exact threshold frequency deviation required to eliminate false positives from routine environmental noise. This systematic progression from theory to a physical IoT prototype will solidify the system’s viability for real-world highway implementation.
