Cryptography has a long and fascinating history that spans thousands of years. From ancient times to the present day, people have used ciphering techniques to protect their secrets and communicate securely. This article traces the timeline of ciphering techniques in chronological order, from the earliest known examples of cryptography to the modern cryptographic systems used today. It explores the development of these techniques over time, the historical context in which they were used, and the mathematical and computational principles they rely on. By examining the evolution of ciphering techniques, we can gain a deeper understanding of how cryptography has adapted to changing technology and societal needs. This article highlights the ongoing importance of cryptography in ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information and emphasizes the need for continued research and innovation in this critical field as well as the timeline of major events in the field of Cryptography – Particularly involving Modern Day Ciphers, which has shaped them in the form they are as of now.
