AI has proven to be a game-changer in mathematics education, providing powerful tools for personalized learning, intelligent tutoring, automated assessment, and curriculum design. In this paper, the applications of AI in the field of mathematics education are explored, with a focus on how it can help improve student engagement, problem-solving skills, and how it can help teachers make instructional decisions. Some of the main applications are adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, automated assessment systems, and AI analytics for educational research. Challenges that are addressed include ethical issues, privacy in data, and teacher training. This study synthesizes existing research to gain insight into the impact AI can have on mathematics education and promote conceptual understanding. This research aims to introduce the concept of intelligent tutoring systems in mathematics education, exploring how AI can help students with learning disabilities. This research is aimed to introduce the concept of Intelligent Tutoring Systems in mathematics education and also examine how the artificial intelligence can be used to support a student with learning disabilities.
KEYWORDS
Overall, Artificial Intelligence has the potential to revolutionize the teaching and learning of mathematics by providing more personalized, efficient, and engaging learning experiences. It can differentiate instruction, automate basic tasks, and give immediate feedback that can help boost teaching and learning. Meanwhile, AI tools for analytics and accessibility enhance opportunities for everyone learning mathematics, making it more inclusive and flexible. But if this potential is to be realised it must be done with care, taking into consideration issues of ethics, including data privacy, algorithmic fairness, preparedness of teachers, and equitable access. With responsible management of these challenges, AI can no longer be a tool for teachers to replace but rather a potent instrument that will help propel mathematical literacy and enable learners to become more successful in a technological society.
