Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in education, enabling personalized learning environments that adapt to individual student needs, preferences, and learning trajectories. This paper synthesizes recent research on AI-driven adaptive systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, generative AI applications, and data-driven analytics to evaluate their impact on student performance and engagement. Findings indicate that AI enhances knowledge retention, problem-solving ability, and motivation through real-time feedback, gamification, and adaptive pathways. However, challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, accessibility disparities, and the evolving role of educators remain critical. By integrating insights from multiple studies, this paper highlights both the opportunities and limitations of AI-powered personalized learning, offering recommendations for ethical, inclusive, and scalable implementation in higher education.
