Interior design no longer means decoration only. Today, people demand their spaces to be appealing as well as environmentally friendly. The purpose of this research is to find a possibility for creating a space, which will be beautiful and sustainable at the same time but won't seem confined and boring. As it appears from the study conducted in terms of general theory, practice, and common solutions, small details can go a long way. Utilization of sustainable materials such as bamboo and reused wood, as well as natural paints, will provide safety for the environment and will help the interior gain organic aesthetics. Moreover, letting more light in and introducing more ventilation as well as using natural plants as decor can also make an interior healthier and more appealing. As for the process of designing, one should note that good planning is also crucial. Careful selection of spatial layout and furniture, choice of materials that would require little maintenance, and lighting that would consume minimal electricity can all help save resources and make the interior last longer. Other challenges have been addressed in this study too. First, many individuals believe that green design can be very costly initially. In addition to this, there is an issue of low levels of knowledge, and in certain cases, it is difficult to source sustainable materials. However, despite the above mentioned problems, the long-term advantages are evident. Sustainable design allows saving on costs, minimizes maintenance efforts and creates comfortable indoor environment. To conclude, it is worth noting that sustainable and aesthetic interior design is possible. It takes nothing more than correct decisions and realistic actions. The idea of sustainable interior design should be regarded as a sensible and progressive approach to interior design. This implies designing the interior not only of today, but of tomorrow too.
KEYWORDS
Based on the study done here, interior design does not only involve making an area appealing, but involves creating functional spaces which are also environmentally friendly. The evolution in interior design has led to the need for incorporating not only aesthetic values, but also ethical responsibilities in designs. The study reveals that it is very much possible to combine these two concepts in an easy way. In other words, simple choices like use of green materials, natural light and proper space planning may improve the beauty and efficiency of interiors. Such decisions often result in increased comfort, naturality and usability of interiors. The challenges include initial high cost, poor knowledge about sustainable architecture and lack of opportunities in some areas. Yet, despite these challenges, the concept of sustainable interior design remains beneficial due to energy savings, reduction of wastage and healthier environments. Finally, another important factor is the shift in mentality. In other words, instead of just following fashion, designers and consumers begin to think about long-term usage and benefits. This makes it easier to develop spacesthat remain functional and appealing for a longer period of time. As can be seen, this research has proved that it is absolutely possible to integrate aesthetics and sustainability without any serious challenges. In other words, the two concepts are not mutually exclusive; instead, they can be used to complement one another and produce a more successful design. Thus, a space can be both aestheticallyand environmentally responsible. In conclusion, successful interior design should pay attention not only to the aesthetic aspect, but also to theaspect of functionality and environmental responsibility. Through appropriate choices, such spaces can be designed to be comfortable and efficient.
