The motive of this paper is to explore how urban haats can function as inclusive spaces that foster social interaction and cultural exchange. It seeks to examine how these marketplaces contribute to preserving traditional crafts and supporting the livelihoods of artisans, especially in the context of growing globalization and urbanization. Haats are informal structures that serve as platforms not only for selling products but also for showcasing the skills of local artisans and craftspeople, often featuring unique offerings that are available only in specific locations. At the heart of these haats lies their sociocultural significance. These spaces act as the lifeblood of urban haats, creating vibrant environments where a multitude of activities and practices can thrive. They offer a dynamic setting for people from diverse ethnicities and age groups to come together, spend their leisure time, engage in creative or recreational pursuits, and foster social connections. By serving as hubs of cultural expression and social engagement, urban haats play a crucial role in maintaining the cultural and social fabric of cities. This study focuses on understanding these multifaceted functions, their impact on communities, and their potential to adapt to the changing dynamics of urban life.
