Abstract

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) encompasses a vast array of traditional wisdom, ethical frameworks, and cultural practices that have guided Indian society for centuries. Despite rapid modernization and globalization, many aspects of IKS continue to influence local communities, shaping their values, customs, and sustainable living practices. This research aims to examine the role of traditional values, ethics, culture, and indigenous knowledge in the everyday lives of people across different regions in India.

Using a mixed-methods approach, this study conducts a sample survey and data analysis to assess the level of awareness, adaptation, and transmission of traditional knowledge. Through statistical analysis, we identify key trends in the preservation of cultural heritage and the challenges posed by urbanization and digitalization. Our findings reveal that while there is a decline in direct adherence to traditional customs among younger generations, there is an increasing interest in reviving cultural identity through education and policy initiatives. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating traditional values into contemporary education, governance, and community-driven development projects.
