KEYWORDS
Mutual funds are an important element in personal financial planning in India. The present study has compared the public and private sector mutual funds on the bases of risk, return and investor satisfaction among the investors of Jaipur District. The results indicate that, overall, returns earned from private sector mutual funds are higher and investors' satisfaction is higher because of service quality, innovation and operational efficiency provided by private sector mutual funds. But the public sector mutual funds are still a popular investment choice for people who have a positive reputation, feel secure and are trusting institutions. Individual investors will need to decide on which side to invest public or private sector mutual funds based on their investment objective, risk appetite, and financial objective. Private sector funds would appeal to investors who want a higher return, while public sector funds would be more attractive to investors who want a stable and secure investment. Both the two sectors have been instrumental in the growth of Indian mutual fund sector and are important in bringing in household savings for productive investment. With the increasing awareness of financial literacy and the rise in the accessibility of digital investment platforms, the number of people investing in mutual funds is likely to increase even more in the future in Jaipur District and the nation of India. Improving transparency, service and investor education will continues to be vital to maintaining investor confidence and the continued development of the mutual fund industry.
