Abstract:

The advent of electric propulsion systems in space exploration has revolutionized the aerospace industry, offering enhanced efficiency and provide alternative sources for space impact. However, the effective thermal management of these systems is crucial for ensuring safe operation during missions. This research paper investigates the probability of cooling effects in electric propulsive devices within space rockets, focusing on various cooling mechanisms and their efficacy in mitigating overheating risks. Through a comprehensive analysis of different electric propulsion technologies—such as ion thrusters, Hall-effect thrusters, and plasma propulsion—this study examines the factors influencing thermal dynamics, including power levels, operational conditions, and the effects of the spacecraft environment. The findings highlight the importance of both passive and active cooling strategies, including radiative cooling, heat pipes, and liquid cooling systems, in maintaining optimal performance and preventing system failures. Statistical assessments reveal varying probabilities of overheating across different propulsion types, emphasizing the need for robust thermal management protocols. Ultimately, this research underscores the critical role of effective cooling systems in enhancing the safety and reliability of electric propulsion in space rockets, providing insights for future design improvements and operational guidelines.
