Traditional energy systems rely on centralized infrastructures where electricity is generated and distributed by utility companies, often leading to limitations such as lack of transparency, dependency on intermediaries, and inefficient utilization of renewable energy. To address these challenges, this project proposes a Blockchain-based Decentralized Energy Marketplace that enables secure peer-to-peer energy trading between producers and consumers. The system uses blockchain technology and smart contracts to ensure transparent, secure, and automated transactions without the need for centralized authorities. Users can create accounts using their mobile number or unique identification and connect blockchain wallets such as MetaMask to perform energy transactions. Through a login dashboard, users can monitor energy generated, energy sold, energy purchased, and revenue earned. By enabling prosumers to sell surplus renewable energy directly to nearby consumers, the platform improves energy efficiency, reduces transmission losses, and promotes sustainable energy usage. The proposed system demonstrates how blockchain technology can transform traditional energy markets into a more transparent, decentralized, and consumer-driven energy ecosystem.
