Abstract - Smart Farming Assistant is a comprehensive, full-stack web-based agriculture management platform designed to empower farmers and agricultural professionals with AI-driven insights, real-time environmental data, and location-based services. The system integrates machine learning models for crop disease detection and recommendation, weather forecasting APIs, Google Maps-based shop and laboratory locators, and a multilingual user interface supporting both English and Tamil. By combining modern web technologies with accessible AI tools, Smart Farming Assistant addresses critical challenges faced by farmers in making timely, data-informed decisions regarding crop health, fertilizer use, and harvesting schedules. The platform is developed using React.js for the frontend, Node.js and Express.js for the backend, and Python scikit-learn for AI model inference. Experimental evaluation demonstrates that the platform effectively assists farmers in disease identification, crop selection, and weather-informed planning.
KEYWORDS
This paper presented the design and implementation of the Smart Farming Assistant, a full-stack web-based intelligent platform developed to support farmers throughout the crop lifecycle. The system integrates React.js, Node.js, Python ML models, Google Maps API, and OpenWeatherMap API to deliver crop disease detection, data-driven recommendations, location-based services, and weather forecasting within a unified multilingual interface. Implementation results demonstrate that the platform effectively assists farmers in making timely, informed agricultural decisions while reducing dependence on scarce extension officer resources. The Tamil language support meaningfully extends the platform's reach to rural communities that have historically been underserved by agricultural technology solutions. The proposed solution demonstrates the practical application of artificial intelligence and modern web technologies in precision agriculture. The platform serves as a scalable and extensible foundation for ongoing smart farming capability development.
