This paper propose a hybrid ac/dc solar power deliver to home with a system of reconfigurable single phase inverter and three phase inverters. This inverter performs a single stage operation which includes dc-dc, dc-ac and grid connected one, thus mitigating system losses, cost and size of the converter. Single stage system can avoid unnecessary power conversions and improves the efficiency with better harmonic profile by isolating dc loads to dc supply side and remaining to ac side. The main concept of proposed system is to use a single stage three phase grid connected solar PV converter to perform dc-dc and dc-ac operations effectively using a fuzzy logic controller. The proposed analysis validates through MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Such type of PV System equipped with a new inverter topology could become a basic building block for future energy efficient micro and smart grid.
KEYWORDS
This paper suggested a more suitable converter topology for a solar powered hybrid ac/dc home. The main idea of this topology is to utilize single conversion of ac power to dc and vice versa, which improves the efficiency, reduces volume, and enhances the reliability. The fuzzy logic controller implemented to validates that the suggested converter topologies would be helpful to reduce significant amount of harmonics in the residential feeders of the future smart grid. Though, here only solar PV is considered as source of power, this topology could be equally applicable to wind, fuel cells, etc.
