Gutter are an important part of building drainage systems that help to direct rainwater from rooftops to downspouts. Over time, gutters accumulate leaves, dust, plastic waste, and other debris which causes blockage and water overflow. Traditional gutter cleaning methods are performed manually using ladders and hand tools, which are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and risky for workers. This paper presents the design and development of a gutter cleaning system that can effectively removes debris from gutters with minimal human effort. The proposed system uses a chain drive mechanism, motor, sprocket, and brush assembly to move the cleaning mechanism along the gutter. The system is designed to be portable, low-cost, and easy to operate. This project aims to improve safety, reduce cleaning time, and increase efficiency in building maintenance.
KEYWORDS
The design and development of a gutter cleaning system provides a practical solution for maintaining building drainage systems. The proposed system reduces manual effort, improves safety, and increases cleaning efficiency. Due to its simple design and low cost, the system can be used for residential as well as commercial buildings. In the future, the system can be further improved by adding automation and sensor-based control mechanisms.
