This technical report details a comprehensive twelve-week professional internship focused on modern DevOps methodologies, cloud infrastructure administration, and deployment automation. The primary objective of the engagement was to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical software engineering workflows by architecting and executing a robust deployment pipeline for an e-commerce web application. The technical architecture utilized a decentralized approach, packaging application components into lightweight, uniform environments using Docker containerization to eliminate environmental friction across development and production stages. These containerized microservices were systematically orchestrated using an Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and dynamic horizontal scaling. Automated synchronization and continuous delivery workflows were structured around GitOps paradigms via Argo CD, establishing Git repositories as the definitive source of operational truth. Furthermore, real-time observability, telemetry collection, and performance visualization were established by configuring Prometheus metrics collectors paired with interactive Grafana visualization dashboards. Ultimately, the successful execution of this project demonstrated how integrating automated deployment pipelines, structured cloud orchestrators, and rigorous monitoring configurations directly resolves traditional system delivery friction, manual configuration overhead, and downtime vulnerabilities. This experiential learning opportunity provided substantial industry-aligned competencies across continuous deployment workflows, systems reliability, cloud security principles, and cross-functional technology management .
KEYWORDS
The successful execution of this four-month professional internship at Vtricks Technologies provided a critical opportunity to bridge academic paradigms with production-grade cloud systems engineering. Through the practical development and deployment of the Book Shopping Web Application, this project successfully demonstrated how integrating automated deployment toolchains directly resolves the systemic vulnerabilities of manual server configurations, deployment delays, and environmental friction. By decoupling the bookstore's microservices inside optimized Docker containers and orchestrating them via an Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster on AWS, the architecture achieved robust fault tolerance, high resource efficiency, and smooth, traffic-driven horizontal scaling. Furthermore, migrating operational workflows toward a declarative GitOps model managed by Argo CD proved that version-controlled repositories can effectively function as an immutable, automated source of truth, completely eliminating configuration drift across live environments. Simultaneously, setting up a continuous telemetry pipeline using Prometheus and interactive Grafana dashboards established complete structural visibility, turning raw system metrics into actionable infrastructure intelligence. Ultimately, this engineering project highlights the immense value of DevOps methodologies in modern software delivery, achieving an enterprise-ready, scalable, and highly secure digital platform while building deep technical competencies in cloud architecture, continuous integration pipelines, and systems reliability.
