In the modern digital era, image processing plays a crucial role in various applications such as object recognition, image enhancement, and color analysis. This project focuses on dominant color detection, where an image is analyzed to determine its most frequently occurring colors. The system allows users to upload an image by providing its file path, after which it processes the image using OpenCV and NumPy to extract color information. The algorithm identifies and sorts the most dominant colors based on pixel frequency, displaying the top three dominant colors along with the most prevalent one. This technique can be utilized in fields like fashion, design, content creation, and image-based classification, providing insights into color distribution. The implementation is efficient, user-friendly, and adaptable for various image analysis tasks.
KEYWORDS
The Dominant Color Detection System provides an efficient and automated solution for identifying the most frequently occurring colors in an image using Python, OpenCV, and NumPy. The system improves traditional color detection methods by using color quantization and unique color frequency analysis to achieve better accuracy and faster processing. The project successfully detects and displays the dominant colors present in an image along with their RGB values and visual color representation. The system is capable of handling different image sizes and formats while maintaining efficient performance. By automating the dominant color extraction process, the project reduces manual effort and computational complexity. This system can be applied in various real-world applications such as image classification, graphic designing, fashion analysis, digital marketing, and content creation. Overall, the project demonstrates the importance of image processing and computer vision techniques in solving practical color analysis problems efficiently and accurately.
