Abstract

Logistics management plays a vital role in improving supply chain operations in manufacturing, where timely material movement and cost control are critical. In India, manufacturers often face challenges such as transportation delays, inventory mismatches, limited warehouse capacity, and weak coordination among supply chain partners. This study examines how logistics management practices influence supply chain performance in the Indian manufacturing sector. The research focuses on key practices including transportation management, inventory control, warehousing operations, and coordination mechanisms, and evaluates their effect on delivery reliability, operational efficiency, responsiveness, and cost control. A descriptive research design is adopted. Both primary and secondary data are used to meet the research objectives. Primary data are collected through a structured questionnaire from supply chain and logistics professionals in manufacturing firms, while secondary data are gathered from journals, industry reports, and prior studies. Data are analyzed using frequency and percentage methods with simple graphical support. The study provides practical insights into how effective logistics practices can enhance overall supply chain performance for managers, practitioners, and researchers.
