HVAC is an acronym of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. HVAC denotes to the different systems and machines used for moving air between outdoor and indoor areas, along with heating and cooling both commercial and residential buildings. These systems keep you warm and convenient in the winter and feeling cool and fresh in the summer. In other words, these systems filter and clean indoor air to keep you healthy and maintain humidity levels at optimal comfort levels. In this paper, we have calculated the heating load and cooling load through simulations using Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) and compare the results with real time performance of a commercial buildings, suggested the methodology to improve the load calculations and to make optimum solutions for designing HVAC systems. The heating load is the amount of heat energy that would need to be added to a space to maintain the temperature and humidity in an acceptable range. The cooling load is the amount of heat energy that would need to be removed from a space (cooling) to maintain the temperature in an acceptable range. The calculation of heating load and cooling load is carried out by taking into account the ASHRAE and other relevant standards.
