Remote work has become one of the most significant workplace trends in recent years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations worldwide have adopted remote and hybrid work models to ensure business continuity, employee flexibility, and operational efficiency. With the increasing use of digital communication tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Google Meet, remote work has transformed the way employees interact and collaborate within organizations. This research paper explores the impact of remote work on team collaboration. The study aims to analyze how remote working environments affect communication, productivity, teamwork, employee engagement, trust, and overall organizational performance. It also examines the advantages and challenges associated with remote collaboration and identifies the tools and strategies that improve team coordination in virtual work settings. The research uses both primary and secondary sources of data. Primary data has been collected through questionnaires and online surveys conducted among 100 working professionals and students involved in remote or hybrid work environments. Secondary data has been collected from journals, research articles, company reports, websites, and published studies related to remote work and organizational behaviour. The study follows a descriptive research design using convenience sampling techniques. The findings reveal that remote work has both positive and negative impacts on team collaboration. Flexible working hours, reduced commuting time, and digital collaboration tools improve employee satisfaction and productivity. However, communication barriers, lack of face-to-face interaction, feelings of isolation, and coordination difficulties can negatively affect teamwork and organizational relationships.
KEYWORDS
Remote work has transitioned from an emergency framework into a structural component of the modern global business environment, fundamentally altering team interaction dynamics. Digital communication platforms and enterprise project systems have empowered employees to maintain rigorous output standard vectors while operating from distributed geographical nodes. This research concludes that while remote work delivers immense value through enhanced schedule control, lower travel constraints, and elevated individual morale, it presents systemic friction points regarding communication latency and corporate isolation. Ultimately, productive virtual synergy is not accidental; it depends on structured institutional protocols, healthy team trust, proactive leadership frameworks, and precise execution of technological toolkits. Organizations that align strong employee engagement frameworks with optimized digital platforms will yield superior, sustainable collaborative advantages.
