Agriculture plays a vital role in the economy of developing countries, yet farmers often face challenges such as price fluctuations, lack of market transparency, post-harvest losses, and dependence on intermediaries. Most traditional agricultural systems provide only current market information and do not help farmers predict future trends or make informed decisions. To address these issues, this project presents FarmIntel – Crop Collection and Market Intelligence Platform, an intelligent digital solution designed to improve post-harvest management and market planning. The platform integrates crop collection centers, market analytics, and machine learning techniques into a single ecosystem. Farmers can register their crops through collection centers where quality, weight, and other parameters are recorded. The system then analyzes historical and real-time market data to forecast future crop prices using Linear Regression and estimate regional demand using Random Forest algorithms. A smart reservation mechanism helps reduce wastage by considering crop shelf life, while a compensation engine provides financial support for unsold produce. Developed using React JS, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Python-based machine learning libraries, FarmIntel offers a modern and scalable solution for agricultural supply chain management. The system enhances decision-making, reduces market uncertainty, and promotes better financial stability for farmers.
KEYWORDS
FarmIntel is a smart agricultural market intelligence platform that combines agricultural operations with machine learning and predictive analytics to support farmers and other stakeholders. The system integrates crop collection management, price forecasting, demand prediction, inventory tracking, and compensation management into a single platform. This helps improve decision-making, increase operational efficiency, and provide better market opportunities for farmers. The platform enhances market transparency by providing accurate market insights and reducing uncertainty in crop pricing and demand. It helps minimize post-harvest losses, improves communication between farmers and buyers, and contributes to higher profitability. The centralized management system also enables efficient monitoring of agricultural activities and transactions. In the future, FarmIntel can be enhanced by developing a mobile application for easier access to services and notifications. Integration with IoT devices can enable real-time crop and environmental monitoring. Advanced AI techniques can be used to provide personalized farming recommendations, crop disease detection, and yield prediction. Additionally, connecting the platform with government agricultural schemes and weather forecasting services can further benefit farmers and improve agricultural productivity. Overall, FarmIntel demonstrates how modern technologies can be used to create a more efficient, transparent, and data-driven agricultural ecosystem, supporting sustainable growth in the farming sector.
