Footstep power generation is an innovative technique used to produce electrical energy by harnessing the mechanical energy generated from human footsteps. In this project, pressure sensors such as piezoelectric sensors are installed beneath walking surfaces like floors, pavements, or stairs. When a person walks over these sensors, mechanical stress is applied, which is converted into electrical energy through the piezoelectric effect. The generated energy is collected, stored, and can be used to power low-energy devices such as LED lights, streetlights, or charging systems. This system provides a renewable and eco-friendly solution to energy generation, especially in high-footfall areas like railway stations, shopping malls, and public walkways. The project aims to promote sustainable energy usage by utilizing wasted human energy and converting it into useful electrical power. It also demonstrates the practical application of green technology in everyday life while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.
KEYWORDS
Footstep power generation is an innovative and eco-friendly approach to producing electrical energy by utilizing the mechanical energy generated from human footsteps. This project demonstrates how piezoelectric sensors can effectively convert pressure into electrical energy, which can be processed, stored, and used for powering low-energy devices such as LED lights and small electronic systems. The integration of components like rectifiers, capacitors, voltage regulators, and microcontrollers ensures stable and efficient operation of the system. Although the energy generated per step is relatively small, the system becomes highly effective when implemented in high-footfall areas where continuous movement can produce a significant amount of power. This technology promotes the concept of renewable energy and sustainable development by making use of otherwise wasted human energy. Overall, footstep power generation presents a promising solution for future smart infrastructure, contributing to energy conservation and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
