The new Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has transformed organizational operations and significantly influenced Personnel Management. Unlike traditional automation technologies that mainly focused on replacing repetitive tasks, Generative AI enhances human capabilities through intelligent support, decision assistance, content generation, and personalized learning. The study assesses how Generative AI is reshaping HRM practices and influencing workforce readiness through a comprehensive review of existing data retrieved from different articles. The study explores the applications of Generative AI in HRM functions. Findings reveal that Generative AI has shifted HR functions from administrative efficiency toward strategic value creation. The study also identifies emerging workforce competencies, including AI literacy, digital skills, critical thinking, and adaptability. The research summarises that companies must implement a method that integrates innovation with continuous workforce development to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.
KEYWORDS
Generative AI is transforming HRM by shifting the focus from automation to augmentation. Through applications in HRM functions, AI technologies are enabling organizations to become more efficient, innovative, and employee-centric. Generative AI is not substituting employees but enhancing their capabilities. Workforce readiness has become a critical organizational priority, requiring continuous investment in skill development, digital literacy, and human-centered competencies. While challenges related to ethics, privacy, transparency, and workforce adaptation persist, organizations that successfully integrate Generative AI with strategic workforce development initiatives gain sustainable competitive advantages. The future of HRM lies in fostering effective integration with humans and technologies, forming workplaces that are technologically advanced and human-centered.
