The hospitality industry is increasingly adopting sustainable practices to address environmental challenges and resource scarcity. Among various hotel departments, housekeeping operations significantly contribute to water consumption, energy usage, and chemical discharge. This study examines the impact of green housekeeping practices on resource conservation in star-category hotels. A quantitative research approach was adopted, and primary data were collected from housekeeping staff and managerial personnel across selected hotels. Statistical tools such as descriptive analysis, correlation, and regression were used to evaluate the relationship between eco-friendly practices and resource efficiency. The findings reveal that green housekeeping practices, including linen reuse programs, microfiber cleaning technologies, eco-friendly chemicals, and energy-efficient equipment, significantly contribute to reducing water and energy consumption. The study also highlights that employee training and awareness play a crucial role in the successful implementation of these practices. The research concludes that green housekeeping not only supports environmental sustainability but also enhances operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, thereby providing a competitive advantage to hotels.
KEYWORDS
The study concludes that green housekeeping practices play a vital role in resource conservation in star hotels. The adoption of eco-friendly practices significantly reduces water and energy consumption while enhancing operational efficiency and cost savings. The findings highlight the importance of employee training, technological integration, and managerial support in ensuring the successful implementation of sustainable practices. Hotels that adopt green housekeeping not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also gain a competitive advantage through improved brand image and customer satisfaction. Future research should explore the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to further enhance sustainability in hotel operations.
