In today’s data-centric world, a vast amount of critical information remains locked in non-machine-readable formats like scanned documents and images. This creates a significant bottleneck for data analysis and automation. Traditional methods for digitizing this content are often cumbersome, inaccurate, or lack essential analytical features. To address these limitations, the OCR Web Application was developed as a comprehensive, web-based platform that leverages a powerful stack of image processing and machine learning technologies to accurately extract and analyze text. The system’s core innovation is its integrated, end-to-end workflow, which allows users to not only perform high-fidelity text extraction but also to evaluate the accuracy of the output, translate it into various languages, and generate insightful PDF reports. At its foundation, the application employs the robust Tesseract OCR engine, enhanced by a custom image pre- processing pipeline built with the Pillow library. Built on the lightweight Flask web framework, the OCR Web Application is designed for a seamless user experience, providing an accessible, scalable, and powerful tool to bridge the gap between static images and dynamic, actionable data.
