Satellite imagery plays a critical role in applications such as environmental monitoring, urban planning, disaster management, and defense surveillance. However, many satellite images suffer from low spatial resolution due to sensor limitations, atmospheric disturbances, or bandwidth constraints. Image superresolution aims to reconstruct highresolution images from lowresolution inputs while preserving structural details and textures. This paper presents a deep learningbased superresolution framework using SuperResolution Generative Adversarial Networks (SRGANs) for enhancing lowresolution satellite imagery. The proposed system integrates adversarial loss, perceptual loss, and content reconstruction loss to generate visually realistic and highfrequency details. Experimental results demonstrate improved Peak Signal to Noise Ratio, Structural Similarity Index, and perceptual quality compared to traditional interpolation methods and CNN based baselines. The proposed method supports remote sensing applications requiring enhanced spatial resolution.
KEYWORDS
This paper presented an SRGANbased image superresolution framework for enhancing lowresolution satellite imagery. The proposed method effectively reconstructs highfrequency details and improves visual realism compared to traditional methods. Future work includes integrating transformerbased attention modules, incorporating multispectral satellite bands, exploring diffusionbased superresolution models, and optimizing the model for deployment on edge computing devices in remote sensing systems. This proctoring is 90% accuracy.
