BACKGROUND: Growing rates of teenage obesity are a major global health concern, with causes including sedentary lifestyles, poor eating habits, and a lack of knowledge about fitness and nutrition. Adolescent health education programs that teach information about physical activity, nutrition, and the value of maintaining a healthy weight have showed potential in tackling this problem. Such programs attempt to prevent or reduce obesity rates, promote lifelong wellness, and lessen the long-term health implications associated with excess weight gain during adolescence by providing teenagers with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthier choices.
