Industrial training plays an important role in developing practical skills among mechanical engineering students by providing direct exposure to manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, production practices, quality control and safety procedures. This paper presents an industrial exposure study conducted at Vaibhav Engineering, Chikalthana MIDC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, with particular emphasis on the manufacturing and working principles of hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power packs, tools and dies, and special-purpose machines (SPMs) The study examines the construction, operating principles, manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, inspection methods and industrial applications of these systems
KEYWORDS
The industrial exposure at Vaibhav Engineering, Chikalthana MIDC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, provided valuable practical understanding of important mechanical engineering systems and manufacturing processes. The study covered hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic power packs, tools and dies, and special-purpose machines along with machining, fabrication, assembly, inspection, testing, maintenance and safety practices. The study established a clear connection between theoretical subjects and industrial applications. Hydraulic cylinders demonstrated the application of fluid-power principles, while power packs demonstrated the integration of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical components. Tool and die manufacturing highlighted the importance of precision and repeatability, whereas SPMs demonstrated the role of specialized automation in manufacturing.
