The integration of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) into the agricultural sector has established a transformative paradigm for intelligent, connected farming. This research paper evaluates the comprehensive IoT ecosystem, which integrates sensing devices, computing pipelines, and actuators to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the entire farming value chain. By leveraging a continuous flow of time-series data, these systems enable localized weather alerts, precision irrigation, and variable-rate applications of soil treatments. Furthermore, the study explores the application of machine learning and spectral imaging for advanced pest management and crop health monitoring. While technical hurdles such as connectivity standards and security resilience remain, the analysis substantiates that IoT frameworks provide the consistency and operational capability required to enhance global agricultural productivity and resource sustainability.
KEYWORDS
The integration of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) into the agricultural sector has established a transformative ecosystem of connected environments. By combining sensing and actuation devices with advanced data management, IoT technologies bring a new level of consistency and capability to modern farming. Key Advantages of IoT Implementation· Enhanced Productivity and Yield: IoT systems maximize both the quality and quantity of crop yields through continuous monitoring and timely interventions. · Resource Optimization: Precision agriculture techniques, such as variable-rate application (VRA), allow for the precise delivery of water, fertilizers, and pesticides. This significantly reduces resource consumption and minimizes negative ecological impacts.
