Space debris poses significant risks to operational spacecraft and satellites, necessitating effective tracking and monitoring systems. Utilizing CubeSats, specifically Ardusat, equipped with advanced imaging systems offers a promising solution for effective space debris mapping and monitoring. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the latest research and technological advancements in this area. It examines the integration of optical cameras, LiDAR, and radar systems with CubeSats, detailing their capabilities and limitations. Case studies, including LightSail 2 and RemoveDEBRIS, are discussed to illustrate successful implementations. The paper also addresses future prospects, challenges, and the potential for CubeSats to improve space debris management and safety.
