This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system for monitoring water quality in real time. Traditional water testing methods are slow, costly, and do not provide continuous monitoring. The proposed system uses sensors to measure parameters such as pH, turbidity, temperature, and water level. An ESP32 microcontroller collects and processes the data and transmits it to the cloud using Wi-Fi. The system allows users to monitor water quality remotely through a web interface. It provides a low-cost, reliable, and efficient solution, reducing manual effort and enabling instant detection of unsafe water conditions.
KEYWORDS
The proposed Internet of Things (IoT)-based water quality monitoring system provides an efficient and reliable solution for continuous monitoring of essential water parameters such as pH, turbidity, temperature, and water level. Unlike traditional methods that rely on manual sampling and laboratory analysis, the system enables real-time data collection and remote monitoring, significantly reducing time, cost, and human effort. The integration of multiple sensors with the ESP32 microcontroller ensures accurate data acquisition and efficient processing. The use of Wi-Fi connectivity allows seamless transmission of data to a cloud platform, where it can be accessed and visualized through a user-friendly web interface. This enhances the accessibility of information and enables users to monitor water conditions from any location. The implementation of an alert mechanism further improves the effectiveness of the system by providing timely notifications when water quality parameters exceed safe limits. This helps in early detection of contamination and supports quick decision-making to prevent potential health and environmental risks. Overall, the system demonstrates the practical application of IoT in environmental monitoring and highlights its potential in improving water quality management. Its low cost, scalability, and ease of implementation make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including domestic, industrial, agricultural, and environmental monitoring systems. The proposed solution contributes toward ensuring safe and sustainable water resources for future use.
