Abstract

In today’s digital era, efficient and reliable attendance management systems are essential for educational institutions and organizations. Traditional manual methods are prone to errors, time-consuming, and often lack transparency. To overcome these limitations, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based online attendance machine is proposed. This system integrates biometric sensors (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) with IoT-enabled microcontrollers to automatically record attendance data. Once authenticated, the data is transmitted in real-time to a cloud server via Wi-Fi or GSM modules. Administrators and faculty can access attendance records through a secure web or mobile application, ensuring transparency and reducing paperwork. The IoT framework enables remote monitoring, instant notifications, and analytics such as attendance trends and defaulter lists. The system enhances efficiency, minimizes human intervention, and provides a scalable solution adaptable to schools, universities, and workplaces. By leveraging IoT technology, this online attendance machine ensures accuracy, security, and accessibility, making it a modern replacement for conventional attendance system

Full Article/Conclusion

The IoT-based online attendance machine provides a modern, efficient, and secure solution to traditional attendance management challenges. By integrating biometric/RFID authentication with IoT connectivity and cloud storage, the system ensures accuracy, transparency, and real-time accessibility. It reduces manual workload, prevents proxy attendance, and offers automated reporting and notifications, making it highly beneficial for schools, offices, industries, and other organizations. This technology-driven approach not only streamlines administrative tasks but also enhances productivity and accountability. With its scalability and integration capabilities, the IoT attendance system represents a significant step toward smart, automated, and reliable attendance management in the digital era.
