Abstract

The oil and gas industry is one of the most hazardous working environments because of the presence of flammable gases, toxic chemicals, and high temperature conditions. Workers in these industries are exposed to several risks such as gas leakage, fire accidents, and health problems.Traditional safety systems depend mainly on manual monitoring, which cannot provide continuous protection for workers. Therefore, this project proposes an IoT-based smart worker safety monitoring system. The system uses different sensors to monitor environmental conditions and worker health parameters. Sensors such as gas sensors, temperature sensors, and heart rate sensors collect real-time data. The collected data is processed by a microcontroller and transmitted to an IoT cloud platform using wireless communication.Supervisors can monitor the worker’s safety through a mobile application or dashboard. If dangerous conditions such as gas leakage or high temperature are detected, the system automatically generates alerts and activates alarms. This system improves worker safety, enables real-time monitoring, and helps prevent accidents in hazardous industrial environments.

Full Article/Conclusion

The IoT-driven smart worker safety system for oil, gas, and industrial applications provides an advanced and reliable solution to protect workers in hazardous environments. By integrating sensors such as gas sensors, oil sensors, temperature sensors, heartbeat sensors, and GPS modules, the system enables continuous real-time monitoring of both environmental conditions and worker health. This system helps in the early detection of dangers like gas leaks, oil spills, extreme temperatures, and health abnormalities, allowing immediate action to prevent accidents. The use of IoT technology ensures that all data is transmitted to a central monitoring system, enabling quick decision-making and emergency response. Overall, the system significantly reduces risks, improves worker safety, and increases operational efficiency. It is a cost-effective and scalable solution that can be widely implemented across oil, gas, and industrial sectors to create a safer and smarter working environment.
