Biometric authentication systems have become increasingly important in modern security applications due to their ability to provide reliable and accurate identity verification. Among various biometric technologies, iris recognition is widely considered one of the most secure methods because of the unique and stable patterns present in the human iris. This study focuses on the analysis of the Iris dataset using machine learning techniques and advanced data visualization methods to understand feature relationships and improve classification performance. The dataset contains measurements of sepal length, sepal width, petal length, and petal width for three iris species: Setosa, Versicolor, and Virginica. Data preprocessing and exploratory data analysis were performed to examine the distribution and correlation of features. Visualization techniques such as scatter plots, histograms, pair plots, and correlation heat maps were used to identify patterns and relationships within the dataset. Several machine learning algorithms, including Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree, and Support Vector Machine, were applied to classify iris species. The performance of these models was evaluated using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.Experimental results show that machine learning models can effectively classify iris species with high accuracy, while visualization techniques provide deeper insights into feature importance and data distribution. The study demonstrates that integrating machine learning algorithms with advanced visualization tools improves both classification accuracy and interpretability, making it valuable for pattern recognition and biometric data analysis applications.
KEYWORDS
This research presented a comprehensive analysis of the Iris dataset using machine learning techniques combined with advanced data visualization tools. The primary objective of the study was to explore the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in accurately classifying iris flower species based on morphological characteristics such as sepal length, sepal width, petal length, and petal width. The study involved several stages including data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, visualization, model training, and performance evaluation. Visualization techniques such as pair plots, heat maps, and distribution graphs were employed to better understand the relationships between features and class separability within the dataset. These visual analytics helped reveal that petal-related features play a significant role in distinguishing iris species. Machine learning models were trained using supervised classification techniques. The experimental results demonstrated high classification accuracy, confirming that machine learning algorithms can effectively classify iris species with minimal error. Performance evaluation through confusion matrices and other metrics showed that the proposed workflow provides reliable predictions and clear interpretability of results. Overall, the integration of machine learning models with advanced visualization tools proved to be highly effective in analyzing structured datasets. The proposed approach not only improves model understanding but also enhances interpretability and decision-making in data-driven applications.
