Henry David Thoreau's Walden is one of the most influential works in American literature. Based on his experiences at Walden Pond between 1845 and 1847, the book presents a philosophy of simple living, self-reliance, and harmony with nature. This paper examines Thoreau's criticism of materialistic society, his advocacy of a life close to nature, and the transcendental ideals that shape the text. Through symbolic representations of the seasons, natural imagery, and personal experiences, Thoreau encourages individuals to seek spiritual awakening and meaningful existence. The study highlights the continuing relevance of Walden in the modern world, where technological advancement often distances humanity from nature and inner fulfillment.
