The identification of emotions based on electroencephalogram signal patterns has attracted considerable interest in the brain computer interface domain owing to its various uses in the health sector, human-computer interaction, and monitoring of mental states. This work introduces NeuroFusion, a multi-modal deep learning model aimed at increasing emotion classification accuracy by incorporating EEG signal characteristics together with deep neural networks. The system carries out the preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification steps of the input EEG signals using deep learning algorithms that exploit both temporal and spatial brain patterns. The experimental results reveal that the developed technique outperforms conventional machine learning methods in terms of accuracy. The design of the method allows for efficient scalability, making it ideal for real-time applications. The source code used in developing the algorithm is available through an open-source platform.
KEYWORDS
The proposed NeuroFusion system presents an effective approach for emotion recognition using EEG signals by leveraging deep learning techniques. The integration of preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification enables the model to capture complex patterns in brain activity and achieve higher accuracy compared to traditional methods. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms conventional machine learning algorithms in terms of classification performance. The use of deep learning allows the system to learn both temporal and spatial features, resulting in improved prediction accuracy. Although the model shows promising results, challenges such as variability in EEG signals and computational complexity still exist. Future work can focus on optimizing the model for real-time applications and improving generalization across different datasets. The implementation of the proposed system is made publicly available to support reproducibility and further research in the field of emotion recognition.
