Performance appraisal is a critical Human Resource Management practice that evaluates employee performance, supports career development, and enhances organizational effectiveness. This study examines the effectiveness of performance appraisal systems and their influence on employee satisfaction at Wipro Technologies. A descriptive research design was adopted using primary and secondary data collected from 100 employees through a structured questionnaire. The original project employed Percentage Analysis, Categorization, Tabular Analysis, and Visual Presentation for interpreting the collected data. The findings indicate that transparent appraisal practices, timely feedback, recognition, and career development opportunities significantly improve employee motivation, satisfaction, organizational commitment, and overall workplace performance.
KEYWORDS
Performance appraisal systems play a significant role in enhancing employee performance, motivation, and organizational effectiveness at Wipro Technologies. The study indicates that employees generally perceive the existing appraisal process as fair, transparent, and supportive of professional development. Timely feedback, objective performance evaluation, recognition of employee contributions, and opportunities for career advancement positively influence employee satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings further demonstrate that an effective appraisal system strengthens trust between employees and management while encouraging continuous learning and improved workplace performance. Although the existing system is positively evaluated by most employees, continuous refinement of appraisal practices through enhanced communication, regular feedback, technological support, and employee participation will further improve organizational performance. Overall, an efficient performance appraisal system remains an important Human Resource Management practice for improving employee satisfaction, productivity, retention, and long-term organizational success at Wipro Technologies.
