Abstract -  Traditional Direct Torque Control (DTC) has  gained popularity due to its simplicity, robustness, and rapid torque  response. However, it is not without its drawbacks, including high  Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), significant torque fluctuations,  and varying switching frequencies. These limitations have paved  the way for further research in the field of traditional DTC drive  systems. In order to enhance performance, this dissertation  introduces a novel approach based on minimising voltage vector  errors. The primary objective is to reduce the disparity between the  voltage vector applied to the machine terminal and the reference  voltage vector. This is achieved by optimising the duty ratio  through the proposed method. Importantly, this optimization  process does not introduce additional complexity to the existing  method. The proposed methodology is rigorously simulated using  the MATLAB environment to validate its effectiveness and  potential improvements in traditional DTC drive systems.
