Abstract

Musculo-skeletal disorders (MSDs) are a major cause of morbidity worldwide, leading to pain, disability, and reduced quality of life. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical system, offers a holistic approach to managing MSDs through herbo-mineral formulations known as Rasaushadhis. These formulations, prepared using specific pharmaceutical techniques such as Shodhana (purification), Marana (incineration), and Bhavana (trituration), enhance bioavailability, potency, and safety. This review explores the role of Rasaushadha formulations in the treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, their mechanism of action, and their therapeutic potential in modern healthcare.
