Abstract

Electric vehicle (EV) adoption has been increasing at a fast pace which creates a need for charging systems that provide sustainable energy sources and dependable service and operational efficiency. Fossil fuel-based energy sources continue to power conventional grid-based EV charging stations which results in indirect carbon emissions and increased grid pressure during peak operational times. The project demonstrates a smart electric vehicle charging station which operates using a combined solar and wind energy system for sustainable transportation activities. The system uses solar photovoltaic panels together with a wind energy generator system that includes dual battery storage for maintaining continuous power supply during different weather situations. A DC–DC boost converter maintains constant voltage levels while the inverter module delivers both AC and DC charging solutions which fulfill different EV charging needs. The Arduino-based power control system utilizes voltage and current sensors along with an LCD display for real-time monitoring of power flow and battery status and load conditions. The intelligent energy management algorithm uses renewable energy sources as the main power source while shifting to grid electricity only after all renewable batteries have been used. The system achieves stable DC bus voltage while balancing energy distribution and enhancing charging performance according to simulation results and practical tests. The proposed hybrid renewable charging station provides an economical and environmentally sustainable solution which meets the requirements of future electric vehicle charging systems.

Full Article/Conclusion

The smart electric vehicle charging station which uses a hybrid solar-wind power generation system will provide sustainable and efficient and dependable electric vehicle charging solutions for upcoming charging requirements. The system achieves its goal of reducing fossil fuel dependency through its ability to operate with renewable energy sources and battery storage and power electronic converters and intelligent energy management systems. The system achieves real-time monitoring through its use of sensors and an Arduino-based controller which maintains stable voltage control and enables efficient power distribution while protecting system safety during different load and weather situations. The system provides users with increased options through its dual AC and DC charging capabilities which improve operational flexibility. The proposed model enables environmentally friendly transportation solutions which decrease electric grid demand during peak times while providing a renewable energy-based electric vehicle charging network that can be expanded to smart cities and distant areas.
