Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) face intense competition in attracting students. Traditional admission systems rely on past feedback and lack real-time insights, prediction, and transparency. Thispaperproposesa SMARTHEIAdmission Predictionand Recommendation Systemthatintegrates Explainable AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and deep learning models (BERT, BiLSTM) to analyze student opinions fromsurveys, reviews, and social media. The system predicts future admission trends, explains the reasoning behind predictions, and generates actionable recommendations to improve facilities, services, and student satisfaction. By combining real-time sentiment analysis, predictive modeling, and explainable AI, the system enhances institutional decision-making, builds trust, and supports data-driven strategies for growth.
KEYWORDS
The SMART HEI Admission Prediction and Recommendation System successfully combines sentiment analysis, predictive modeling, and explainable AI into a single intelligent platform. The system is capable of supporting multiple data sources and handling real-time feedback efficiently. The project helps improve institutional decision-making by reducing uncertainty, predicting future admission trends, and providing actionable recommendations. By integrating advanced technologies like AI, NLP, and Explainable AI, the system provides a practical and userfriendly solution for higher education institutions. In the future, the system can be further improved by adding features such as mobile application support, cloud integration, chatbot-based student interaction, and support for more regional languages. Additional enhancements may also include advanced visualization dashboards and improved contextual accuracy in sentiment analysis. Overall, the project demonstrates how intelligent technologies can be effectively used to build a smart admission prediction and recommendation platform for real-world educational applications.
