Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and widespread internet penetration have significantly transformed contemporary marketing practices. Social media marketing has emerged as a powerful strategic tool that enables organizations to build brand awareness, enhance customer engagement, and strengthen brand equity. Platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter) have reshaped communication patterns by facilitating interactive and real-time engagement between brands and consumers. Unlike traditional marketing channels, social media allows businesses to create personalized content, encourage consumer participation, and build long-term relationships. The present research paper examines the effectiveness of social media marketing in brand building. The study focuses on analyzing how digital engagement, influencer marketing, online reviews, targeted advertisements, and consistent brand communication contribute to brand awareness, trust, loyalty, and overall brand perception. The research adopts a mixed-method approach combining primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected from 100 respondents through a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. Percentage analysis and graphical interpretations are suggested to analyze consumer responses. Secondary data was gathered from academic journals, marketing textbooks, and research publications to establish theoretical foundations. The findings reveal that social media marketing significantly enhances brand visibility and positively influences consumer perception. A majority of respondents acknowledged discovering new brands through social media platforms and expressed higher trust toward brands that actively engage with customers online. Influencer marketing and visually appealing content were identified as major drivers of brand recall and purchase intention. The study concludes that social media marketing plays a strategic role in modern brand building by integrating emotional engagement with informational value. Businesses that effectively manage their social media presence can achieve sustainable brand growth and competitive advantage in the digital marketplace.
